MOSCOW, May 5 – RIA Novosti. The Russian Defense Ministry has published footage of the combat work of tank crews of the Russian Armed Forces in the LPR during the destruction of enemy fortified firing points during a special operation in Ukraine.
The video shows the loading of ammunition into tanks and the actions of crews in the cabins of armored vehicles. The published video shows shooting both on the move and during the stop of tanks.
It is noted that Russian tank units destroy firing points from which the enemy is firing from automatic small arms, as well as from anti-tank missile systems and grenade launchers. In addition, tank crews are firing to destroy fortifications and destroy sniper firing positions. T-72B3 tanks suppress the most fortified areas of Ukrainian fortified areas, as well as enemy equipment and manpower, the Defense Ministry stressed.
"By carrying out continuous fire action, tankers ensure the advancement of units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the People's Militia (LPR) and give them the opportunity to gain a foothold on new frontiers," the Russian Defense Ministry stressed.
Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin called its goal "the protection of people who have been subjected to genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years." According to the statement of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, as of March 25, the Russian Armed Forces have fulfilled the main tasks of the first stage of the special operation – they have significantly reduced the combat potential of Ukraine.
The main goal in the Russian military department was called the liberation of Donbass. On April 19, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced the beginning of the next phase of the special operation. Volnovakha, a strategically important regional center south of Donetsk, and Mariupol, the largest city on the coast of the Sea of Azov, have been liberated in the DPR. In the LPR, according to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, as of March 25, 93% of the former Luhansk region, within whose borders a republic was proclaimed in 2014, was liberated.
