The Russian Defense Ministry has published footage of combat work during a special operation in Ukraine of the calculation of the Iskander-M tactical missile system.
The plot is short - it lasts just over two minutes. But the video captures the main stages of preparation for firing, the rocket launch itself and the results of the enemy's fire defeat. First there are shots of Iskander moving into position. It is located in an open field. Then, at the command of the officer, the launch crew performs all the necessary operations preceding the launch of an almost 4-ton tactical missile. Finally, she rushes into the blue sky. The military spends a few minutes on everything about everything.
The final shots were taken from a drone. They record the exact hit of the missile at the target, which was detected with the help of Russian intelligence. As follows from the commentary to the video, there are several such targets - more precisely, it is a whole battery of Ukrainian multiple launch rocket systems "Smerch". From above, it is clearly visible how the Iskander covers the APU combat vehicles, and everything is drowning in fire and smoke.
The video is accompanied by a story by the head of the calculation of the operational-tactical complex named Gleb. He says that the targets for Iskander are critical enemy facilities - warehouses of artillery and missile weapons, fuel and lubricants, command posts and headquarters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The mobility of the complex allows you to quickly change the location of its deployment and avoid a retaliatory strike. Iskander is capable of operating on different terrain and in different weather conditions. And its high accuracy is provided by special software and good work of Russian intelligence.
"Thanks to the technical equipment of this complex, the rocket hits the target accurately. Our complex has no analogues in the world. We are able to hit targets in the tactical depth of the enemy. He is not afraid of the means of electronic warfare of the enemy. And it is almost impossible to intercept the Iskander missile," the officer noted. According to him, no modern air defense system is capable of repelling our missile strike.
It can be added to this that the Iskander-M tactical missile system is designed to defeat small-sized and areal enemy targets. The objects of his strike can be the positions of enemy missiles, multiple launch rocket systems, long-range artillery, enemy aircraft and helicopters located at the airfield, his command posts and communication centers. Iskander gets all such targets from a distance of up to 500 kilometers.
This is the only operational tactical missile system in the world that uses both ballistic and cruise missiles. The latter are capable of flying along the trajectory set by the operator at the lowest possible altitude and skirting the terrain. This makes the ammunition invisible to the enemy's air defense. The unpredictable trajectory and invisibility for radars, which is guaranteed by stealth technology, lead to the fact that Iskander is practically invulnerable to American Patriots and their European counterparts. Therefore, experts say: this military equipment is indispensable for the destruction of all existing anti-aircraft and anti-missile systems in the world.
In addition to the launcher, the complex includes a transport-loading vehicle with two additional missiles, a routine maintenance vehicle, a mobile command post, an information preparation point, a set of arsenal equipment and training facilities.
Brigades of such missile systems are available in all military districts of Russia.
