The developments of specialists from the Russian Federation used on board the International Space Station (ISS) are recognized as reliable and of high quality. Anton Shkaplerov, cosmonaut of Roscosmos, told Izvestia about this on Sunday, April 17.

"We were returning together with our American colleague, astronaut Mark Vande Hai. This was the second flight on the Soyuz, he was confident in its quality. Everything went smoothly. Indeed, our equipment is considered the best in the world, we have not had any accidents at all for more than two years," he said.

The cosmonaut also shared his impressions of working together with American colleagues in orbit.

According to him, the inhabitants of the ISS have not encountered any misunderstandings even in conditions of international tension.

"We have rules: we don't talk about politics and religion. We do not argue, we do not discuss, so the crew worked smoothly as one organism," Shkaplerov explained.

A day earlier, NASA astronaut Thomas Marshburn commented on the situation on the ISS. He stressed that only friendly relations develop between specialists from the USA and the Russian Federation, they cooperate without problems and can rely on each other.

On April 11, the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, said that if Russia withdraws from a joint project with the United States on the International Space Station after 2024, foreign partners could pay for the maintenance of the station in rubles.

The CEO of Roscosmos noted that if the partners do not agree to commercial relations and try to keep the station without the participation of Russia, they will need to compensate for the Russian absence with technical means, which they do not have yet.

On March 24, the head of the US space agency, Bill Nelson, said that the professional relations between Roscosmos and NASA would continue unchanged against the background of Russia's special operation to protect Donbass.
