On April 25, Izvestia correspondent Kirill Olkov showed trophies and documents left by a member of the "Right Sector" (a banned organization in the Russian Federation) who escaped from the village of Bugayevka in the Kharkiv region, as well as a self-propelled artillery installation (ACS) left by Ukrainian radicals.

Among the things left by the "shadow owner" of the village are the flag of the "Right Sector", awards from the organization of nationalists, propaganda books for children, weapons. The discovered books for young children contain propaganda of the NATO bloc. The North Atlantic Alliance has been called Ukraine's "closest and best friend" and defender. Russia, on the contrary, is the enemy.

In addition, the Russian military found a self—propelled artillery installation abandoned in the forest nearby, and in it - documents that prove the preparation of aggression by the Ukrainian authorities towards Donbass. The self—propelled gun was left in fully serviceable condition and with full ammunition - it is clear that the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine left it in a panic. In the gunner's notebook there are records of the targets for which artillery attacks were conducted.

On April 23, Izvestia correspondent Roman Polshakov showed the interior of an abandoned military hospital in the basement of Azovmash in Mariupol. Medical equipment, medicines, as well as abandoned uniforms and weapons were found in the room.

The special operation of the Russian Federation to protect the population of the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics continues in Ukraine and in the Donbas, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24. Moscow explained that its tasks include demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. On April 19, the Russian side announced the beginning of the next stage of the military operation — "the complete liberation of the Donetsk and Lugansk republics."

The situation in the region significantly worsened in mid-February due to shelling by the Ukrainian military. The authorities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics announced the evacuation of residents to Russia and appealed to Moscow for help. On February 21, the President of the Russian Federation signed a decree recognizing the independence of the DPR and LPR.
