The X-29 high-precision short-range aviation missile is one of the most common missiles of this class on Russian military aircraft. It was developed in the 1980s by the Design Bureau - NPO Molniya and NPO Vimpel. It was intended primarily for the destruction of fortified targets: reinforced concrete structures, bridges, ships with a displacement of up to 10,000 tons and submarines in a surface position.
It is equipped with an armor-piercing high-explosive warhead weighing 317 kg. This is about half of the starting weight of the product. The speed of the X-29 is 250-350 meters per second. The range is up to 10 kilometers.
Now the rocket is being upgraded. The X-29 family includes such modifications as the X-29L (with a laser homing head), X-29T (with a television fuel), X-29MP (upgraded, with a passive radar head).
