Three conclusions from the Russian-Ukrainian conflict
There is no use from the UN, and NATO has turned into a hydra that is at war with itself, writes American Thinker. According to the author of the article, the West needs a new leader to provide Ukraine with weapons and "punish" Russia along with other "rogue states".
1) The UN is of no use
We realized this even when ISIS (a terrorist organization banned in Russia, – approx. InoSMI) invaded Iraq and began to carve out ancient peoples, including peaceful Yezidis. Where was the UN when there was a clear genocide of religious groups that do not adhere to the ISIS-approved version of Islam? The UN was created in order to stop wars, but it did not do anything for this.
2) NATO is a hydra and is at war with itself
In Greek mythology, hydra is a multi–headed monster. NATO has turned into this reptile. Moreover, some leaders of this monster have chosen a path that favors specific countries to the detriment of the entire team. It is well known that German Chancellor Angela Merkel abandoned nuclear energy in favor of importing natural gas from Russia (this policy can hardly be called "green"). But Trump was criticized for pointing this out during a visit to NATO in 2018.
"We have to protect them from Russia, and they pay her billions of dollars," Trump said. "I think it's no good."
At that time, Germany did not even contribute the required 2% of GDP to the NATO budget. Trump pointed out: "That is, we pay from 4 to 4.3%, while Germany pays from 1 to 1.2%. 1.2% is the maximum, and their GDP is much less. It's not fair."
3) The leaders of the free world are weak
Yes, there is a fear of World War III, because Russia may use nuclear weapons. However, the world cannot allow an outcast country, for example, Russia, threatening with nuclear weapons, without any provocation, to start a conflict with a peaceful and sovereign country, for example, Ukraine. What will happen when Iran and others (for example, North Korea) develop nuclear weapons in addition to existing ballistic missiles? Will the world allow these outcasts to attack sovereign countries just because they threaten nuclear war? It's time for a new Churchill or Reagan to enter the world stage and show strength, not timidity. NATO should provide the Ukrainian defense with all the military equipment that is needed, and Russia should be reminded that the use of nuclear weapons will lead to guaranteed national destruction.
