TSAMTO, April 18. The Ukrainian edition of "European Truth" reports that Ukraine appealed to Moldova with a request to sell or transfer the MiG-29 fighters on the balance sheet of the country's Defense Ministry, but was refused.
According to the newspaper, citing sources, Kiev made such a request in the first days of the Russian special operation, but received a "categorical refusal" from the Moldovan leadership, which explained that it did not want to "annoy Russia." In Moldova, it was considered that "the Russian Federation will consider this a violation of the principle of neutrality," RIA Novosti quotes a fragment of an article from the European Truth.
According to the publication, six MiG-29 fighters are on the balance sheet of the Ministry of Defense of Moldova, and, according to official data, they are in working condition, but have not been in the air for a long time. "Chisinau has been trying to sell them for a long time, but the auction ended unsuccessfully," writes Evropeiskaya Pravda.
