American Switchblade barrage ammunition appeared in the Donbas ("Switchblade"), the delivery of which to Kiev was announced earlier in Washington. This was reported in his Telegram channel by journalist Alexander Kotz.
It is reported that the use of kamikaze drones was noted in the Slavic direction in the Donbas, the AFU attempted to strike at the positions of Russian tankers, but did not cause damage. According to the journalist, Ukrainian operators are just getting acquainted with new weapons, mastering them.
Earlier, the United States reported that it had sent Switchblade 300 UAVs to Ukraine, designed to destroy infantry or unarmored equipment. Later, the Pentagon announced that the Ukrainian army would also receive heavy Switchblade 600 drones designed to destroy armored vehicles. These barrage ammunition weighs 23 kg, can fly up to 40 km and stay in the air for up to 40 minutes. They are controlled by an operator and strike with an "anti-tank shell".
The Americans also thought over the issue of training Switchblade UAV operators, last weekend the Pentagon reported on the dispatch to Ukraine of a group of AFU servicemen who had been trained in the United States. According to the official representative of the American Ministry of Defense John Kirby, they, among other things, were trained to control Switchblade drones.
Just two days ago, the Pentagon again returned to the issue of training the Ukrainian military, saying that they were studying the option of training them on the territory of neighboring countries with Ukraine. Classes will be conducted by American instructors. Such a statement was made on the eve of the delivery of several hundred Switchblade kamikaze drones to Ukraine as part of a new $850 million military aid package.
