The armed formations of Ukraine will receive 200 tracked M113 armored personnel carriers of American production.
The "one hundred and thirteenth", previously intended for the Afghan government troops, will now go to the units and divisions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which have suffered significant losses in armored vehicles.
These armored personnel carriers were used in the Vietnam War, and have not been considered modern for a long time, but they are reliable, and they are very easy to master.
As noted by "RG: Russian weapons", there is no data on which specific version is planned to be sent to Ukraine. The most advanced modifications weigh fourteen tons. The crew consists of two people, plus 11 more infantrymen are placed in the landing compartment.
The power of the diesel engine is 275 hp. The maximum speed on the highway is 64 km / h, when overcoming water obstacles - 5.8 km / h. The fuel reserve is 480 km . Armament - 12.7 mm M2HB machine gun. The armor is aluminum, and already in the earliest version it could withstand a hit from two hundred meters of 12.7-mm ammunition of the Soviet DShK.
Considering that currently Russian IFVs, BMDS and armored personnel carriers are armed with 30-mm rapid-firing guns, the meeting of the M113 with our light armored vehicles will end very sadly for American vehicles.
