TSAMTO, April 14. Shortly after the delivery of the S-300PMU anti-aircraft missile system to Ukraine, Slovak Defense Minister Yaroslav Nagy announced negotiations with the Ukrainian government on the possibility of selling the 155-mm SG Zuzana (Zuzana 2000).
As reported by Defense News with reference to the statement of Ya .According to the SITA news agency, the possibility of carrying out repairs by military repair plants in Slovakia and sending combat vehicles and T-72 or T-55 APU tanks damaged during the fighting to Ukraine is also being discussed.
It is not yet known which installations are being negotiated for sale. Now the Slovak Armed Forces are adopting the SG "Zuzana-2" developed by Konstrukta Defense, while simultaneously writing off the outdated vz2000 ("Zuzana-1") with a barrel length of 45 calibers.
The combat weight of the new 155-mm SG "Zuzana-2" is 32.4 tons. The car on the Tatra chassis with an 8x8 wheel formula is equipped with an armored cab, a Tatra T3B-928-70 V-8 diesel engine with a power of 330 kW, can be equipped with manual and automatic transmissions. The maximum speed is 80 km/h, the fuel reserve is 600 km.
The tower can rotate 360 degrees, is equipped with a 52-caliber gun, two quadruple 81-mm PU smoke grenades. The 12.7 mm machine gun is mounted on the roof of the right half-tower. The calculation is three people. The maximum rate of fire is 6 shots/min (during the first minute). SG can execute 16 shots in three minutes. With manual loading, the rate of fire is 2 rounds/min. The ammunition of the SG is 40 units of 155-mm shells and the corresponding number of propellant charges. The firing range is 5-41 km.
The Slovak Armed Forces purchased 16 Zuzana howitzers between 1998 and 2000, and in 2018 ordered 25 Zuzana-2 units.
