Due to the continuing shortage of machine guns, the armed formations of Ukraine are forced to remake tank twin machine guns into manual ones. If the APU has a long-standing chronic problem with the latter, then PKT are still available in fair quantities in various warehouses left after the unilateral appropriation of military property of the Kiev, Odessa and Carpathian districts of the Soviet Army in 1991.
Judging by some materials that have appeared on the Web, the work is carried out in artisanal conditions. A team of several people installs special jumpers, to which self-made butts are attached.
Since the variants for armored vehicles are equipped with electric starting blocks, they are being dismantled, and now they have triggers and pistol grips of a modified type compared to those that are usually used.
They also add bipods, a muzzle brake - compensator. To improve the accuracy of shooting, optical sights are installed, which can be replaced with night sights for actions in the dark.
Of course, it is unlikely that these crafts are really of high quality, and there are no guarantees that they will not jam when trying to use combat.
Earlier in Ukraine, they tried to establish the production of PC clones, which received the designation KM-7.62. However, they were manufactured in small batches, and the process itself was accompanied by a lot of organizational and technical problems.
