Among the military equipment that the AFU will receive from the UK, there may be 155-mm self-propelled artillery AS-90. These self-propelled guns, of course, are difficult to attribute to new products, but, compared with the old Soviet 2S1 "Carnation" and 2S3 "Acacia", they have some advantages.
For example, the first one has a maximum firing range of only 15,200 m, and the second one can hit 17,400 m with a conventional projectile, and 20,500 m with an active-reactive one. The AS-90 has 24700 meters and 30,000 meters respectively.
It was reported that 179 combat vehicles were produced until the mid-90s, half of them remained in service. Others were in storage. Perhaps some of them will be handed over to the armed formations of Ukraine after the restoration repair.
According to "RG: Russian weapons", according to some reports, these self-propelled guns have already begun to arrive in Poland.
Artillery crews from the Armed Forces of Ukraine have also been seconded there, which will be engaged in the development of previously unknown equipment. This process is not fast, and it is unlikely that the ACS and crews will have time to take part in the upcoming large-scale hostilities in the Donbas. Although, it is possible that these servicemen and poorly mastered NATO equipment can be immediately thrown into battle, which will certainly lead to significant losses.
