The transferred units from the Kiev and Chernihiv directions are called upon to help the LDPR units

The Russian Armed Forces continue to launch air and missile strikes on fuel storage bases and military facilities of Ukraine during a special operation. At the same time, no significant progress at the front was officially reported. Experts believe that regrouping continues before a decisive offensive against the AFU troops in the Donbass. Meanwhile, the National Defense Control Center raised the issue of the treatment of Russian servicemen in captivity. In addition, the Russian military department announced the upcoming provocations by the nationalists.

Operational pause

According to the data of the Russian Ministry of Defense for April 6, high-precision ground-based missiles in the Donetsk region destroyed the command post of the Ukrainian 56th separate motorized infantry brigade near the settlement of Novogrodovka and the nationalist base in Grodovka. The strikes were inflicted on fuel storage bases in the settlements of Radekhov, Kazatin, Prosyanaya, Nikolaev, Novomoskovsk and Chuguev, the department said.

The operational tactical aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces hit 34 military facilities of Ukraine during the day. Among them are an artillery battery, two logistics depots, as well as nine strong points and areas of concentration of military equipment of the Ukrainian armed forces. 24 targets were destroyed at night, including the Osa-AKM anti-aircraft missile system.

— At the Lozovaya railway station in the Kharkiv region, a cluster of foreign—made military equipment and weapons supplied to supply the Ukrainian armed forces was destroyed, - said the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov.

Russian air defense systems in the Taranovka area of the Kharkiv region shot down a Bayraktar drone in the air. Four more Ukrainian UAVs were destroyed in other areas.

— According to confirmed information, a major provocation with the use of toxic substances is being prepared by the Ukrainian special services in the city of Pervomaisky, Kharkiv region," Igor Konashenkov said. — On the territory of the production association "Khimprom", SBU employees mined a storage facility with 120 tons of chlorine. It is planned to blow it up to accuse Russia of allegedly creating a chemical disaster that caused the death of local residents.

In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, the Russian Defense Ministry has reported the destruction of 125 aircraft, 93 helicopters, 408 unmanned aerial vehicles, 227 anti-aircraft missile systems, 1,987 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 216 multiple rocket launchers, 862 field artillery and mortars, as well as 1,888 units of special military vehicles.

Military expert Dmitry Boltenkov believes that the pause in hostilities on the ground is caused by the ongoing major regrouping of Russian forces.

— It is clear from the latest statements of the Kiev authorities that they do not intend to return the LPR and the DPR peacefully, — the expert told Izvestia. — Therefore, it is impossible to do without using force to encircle and defeat the AFU grouping in the Donbas. It makes no sense to storm large fortified areas head-on. Therefore, it is planned to organize a huge "cauldron" for the remaining detachments and groups. The Russian units transferred from the Kiev and Chernihiv directions will deliver a crushing and quick blow, and will help the people's militia of the Lugansk and Donetsk republics.

At the same time, even during the operational pause, methodical work is underway to detect and then destroy artillery, armored vehicles and enemy strongholds, Dmitry Boltenkov added. They are constantly being hit by artillery, aviation and missile brigades. Strikes on transport railway junctions also began, in order not to allow the AFU to maneuver reserves.

Humanitarian law

On April 6, the head of the National Defense Control Center (NCSO), Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, spoke about the situation of Ukrainian prisoners of war. He assured that he had created conditions that fully comply with the requirements of the Geneva Convention.

"All prisoners are treated in accordance with the norms of international humanitarian law," he said. — They are kept in decent conditions, provided with three meals a day, timely and qualified medical care is provided to them. They are not subjected to violence or psychological pressure. Everyone is given the opportunity to contact relatives.

The military organized cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross. The Russian side sends notification cards to all detained Ukrainian citizens. Media representatives and international organizations have gained access to prisoners of war on the territory of the Russian Federation, Mizintsev said. As an example, he cited a recent trip to Crimea by the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Tatiana Moskalkova, who checked the conditions of detention of Ukrainian prisoners.

— The Ukrainian side, even in this purely humanitarian issue, shows inconsistency and outright indifference to the fate of specific people — citizens of their country. The Kiev authorities have been disrupting the exchange of prisoners of war for a long time, and on pre-agreed terms. The planned exchange of prisoners of war for today has also been disrupted by the Ukrainian side. The list of 251 servicemen declared for exchange was repeatedly clarified during the day, the number of prisoners of war was repeatedly reduced, the list agreed at the last stage in the amount of only 38 servicemen was also rejected by the Ukrainian side this morning without explanation," Mikhail Mizintsev said.

At the same time, the Russian side fully trained Ukrainian prisoners of war according to a large list, in which there were 251 names of servicemen, and brought them to the initial area for exchange.

— But they, citizens of Ukraine, today will not be able to be in their homes, in the family circle, in the circle of relatives and friends, only through the fault of representatives of the Kiev authorities, to whom they also delegated this power, — said the head of the National Research Center. - Given the above, the Russian side has every reason to believe that with the servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces who are in captivity are not all right. In addition, it has been reliably established that Russian servicemen are subjected to torture, violence, bullying, which by their inhumanity copy the actions of the punishers during the Great Patriotic War, and all this is widely distributed on the Internet and the media. Unfortunately, such egregious facts remain without the attention of the world community, including the UN, OSCE and ICRC.

According to Mizintsev, Western countries are aware of Kiev's gross violations of international humanitarian law against Russian prisoners of war and at the same time are trying to help the Ukrainian authorities avoid responsibility. For example, on April 1, representatives of Ukraine notified the British Foreign Ministry that they did not intend to comply with the Geneva Convention when treating Russian prisoners of war. In addition, the Ukrainian authorities are urging Western countries to encourage the International Committee of the Red Cross to abandon attempts to gain access to Russian prisoners of war.

"Such manipulations around Russian servicemen convincingly demonstrate that the authorities of many Western states are becoming complicit in the inhumane crimes of Ukrainian neo—Nazis," Mizintsev said. — Taking into account the above, the Russian Federation, represented by the Interdepartmental Coordination Headquarters of the Russian Federation for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine, appeals to the UN, OSCE, the International Committee of the Red Cross, other international organizations, as well as to the leadership of Germany, Turkey and France — these are the countries that are actively working in the Ukrainian humanitarian direction — to demand from the Ukrainian authorities Immediately ensure access of representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross to Russian prisoners of war in order to establish conditions of detention and conduct an in-depth medical examination, followed by the transfer of accounting documents to the Russian side and international organizations.

The General warned that if the Red Cross and other humanitarian organizations do not take measures, the Russian Federation reserves the right to initiate a meeting of the UN Security Council in the near future and demand a detailed report from the representative of Ukraine and the leadership of the ICRC on the conditions of detention and the state of health of Russian servicemen.

"In addition, the cynical provocation of Ukrainian neo—Nazis with the mass death of civilians in Bucha, carried out with the full support of the Kiev regime, is another evidence of genocide against their own people," Mizintsev said. — And this was done in relation to civilians who allegedly did not resist the Armed Forces of Russia during their stay in the specified locality. All this is striking in its inhuman cruelty. This inhuman and terrible crime of the Kiev regime should be thoroughly investigated with the involvement of international human rights organizations. But the Ukrainian authorities do not stop there. Currently, the preparation of such provocations involving civilians has been completed in the cities of Konotop and Trostyanets, Sumy region, as well as in Borodyanka and Katyuzhanka, Kiev region. We know for sure that the Kiev regime, in addition, is preparing another provocative materials about the death of civilians, allegedly as a result of the actions of the Russian army. To this end, Ukrainian nationalists fired at the village of Dergachi in the Kharkiv region, after which they videotaped destroyed buildings and "numerous dead" for transmission to Western media.

According to him, representatives of Western news agencies participated in the action, and it was led by servicemen of the 72nd Center for Information and Psychological Operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and all participants of staged filming from among civilians were paid $ 25.

— Taking into account the above, we warn the countries of the so-called "civilized West" led by the United States in advance: the Russian Federation has an operational evidence base about the upcoming next terrible crimes of the Kiev regime with the submission and full approval of your own representatives. Such a scenario, with unfounded accusations against the Russian Armed Forces, will not pass this time," the general said.

Fighting with saboteurs

On April 6, the Ministry of Defense told about soldiers and officers who showed courage and dedication during the fighting. A group under the command of Captain Ivan Pakhomov discovered a sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) of 15 militants, a calculation of an anti-tank guided missile system and two calculations of MANPADS. They approached unnoticed and attacked. During the battle, the officer carried out a comrade who was seriously wounded from under fire and returned back to the battle lines. As a result, a significant part of the saboteurs were destroyed, and the survivors surrendered.

The group of the commander of the engineering amphibious company, Captain Alexander Romanov, during reconnaissance discovered a DRG that was laying mines on the approaches to one of the settlements. The unit managed to get to her rear, cutting off the escape routes. During the battle, the nationalists tried to retreat through their own minefield, but one of them blew up. The surviving militants surrendered. After the battle, the captain and his subordinates cleared the road, creating the prerequisites for the liberation of the city. There were no losses in the division of Russian engineers, the Ministry of Defense noted.

The combat group, in which Ivan Yurtaev, an ordinary airborne assault platoon, serves, was attacked by nationalists. Maneuvering a combat vehicle, he managed to cover his comrades with armor at the crucial moment. His car was hit by a grenade launcher, the fighter received a concussion, but did not come out of the battle — first he evacuated a friend to a safe place, after which he returned and fought until reinforcements appeared.

"The paratroopers launched a counteroffensive and squeezed out the enemy from an important line, while there were no losses among the military personnel of the department," the Defense Ministry stressed.

Military police Corporal Yevgeny Olkov discovered a saboteur while refueling a tank regiment and captured him. The prisoner admitted that he was clarifying the coordinates of the Russian equipment in order to deliver a mortar strike on it. Realizing that the saboteur was not alone, Olkov immediately gave the command to change position. After the tanks and tankers left the area, it was covered by Ukrainian mortars. Covering the approaches to the new refueling area, Yevgeny Olkov prevented two more attempts to infiltrate the saboteurs. Thanks to the actions of Corporal Yevgeny Olkov, serious losses were avoided, the Russian military department noted.
