On April 1 of this year, a meeting of the Business Council under the Interstate Commission on Military-Economic Cooperation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization was held in Yerevan as part of the business program of the 3rd International Defense Technology Exhibition "ArmHighTech-2022", which was held under the leadership of the Chairman of the Business Council Alexander Nozdrachev.
The Business Council was attended by heads and members of the national parts of the Business Council, members of the Board of the Military-Industrial Commission of the Russian Federation on military-economic (technical) cooperation in the CSTO format, invited guests and representatives of the journalistic corps.
The issue of using the production capabilities of the enterprises of the military-industrial complex of the Republic of Armenia was considered, promising directions for the development of cooperation with the enterprises of the defense industry (MIC) of the CSTO member states were considered.
In his opening speech, Acting Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, Head of the Armenian National Part of the CSTO ICEC David Sahakyan noted that cooperation in military-technical and military-economic cooperation in the CSTO format is of great importance for the Republic of Armenia. David Sahakyan expressed confidence that the issues discussed at the meeting will contribute to further raising the level of military-economic and military-technical cooperation, the development of cooperative and integration ties between enterprises and organizations of the defense industries of the CSTO member states.
"I am glad to welcome you at the next meeting of the Business Council under the Interstate Commission for Military-Economic Cooperation of the CSTO. I am convinced that today's meeting will lead us to develop additional mechanisms for CSTO cooperation. The year 2022 is marked by the 20th anniversary of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
The work carried out within the framework of the CSTO Intergovernmental Commission on Military-Economic Cooperation occupies an important place in the issues of ensuring and developing the security system of our countries, it also provides an opportunity to discuss with partner countries the reforms of the military-industrial system, the concept of development, the current situation in the region, problems, possible ways to overcome them," David said Sahakyan.
In turn, Chairman of the Board of the Military-Industrial Commission of the Russian Federation on military-economic (technical) cooperation in the CSTO format, member of the Board of the Military-Industrial Commission of the Russian Federation Mikhail Osyko noted that the Business Council is working on promising areas of cooperation between the enterprises of the defense industry (MIC) of the CSTO member states.
Representatives of the companies CJSC "ENIISS", JSC Concern of East Kazakhstan Region "Almaz-Antey", JSC "NPC "Uralvagonzavod", JSC "STC "REB", JSC "NPC "Techmash", LLC "HVAC "Bizon" (Russian Federation) and JSC "Cherentsavansky Machine Tool Plant" made reports on the work carried out (Republic of Armenia).
Following the meeting, the relevant protocol was adopted.
The next meeting of the Business Council at the CSTO ICEC will be held in October 2022 in Bishkek (Kyrgyz Republic).
