Moscow. March 25. INTERFAX - Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed laws introducing amendments on liability for false information about the work of state agencies of the Russian Federation abroad; fines will amount to 5 million rubles, maximum terms of imprisonment up to 15 years.

Thus, according to the amendments, Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation also applies to "the public dissemination, under the guise of reliable reports, of deliberately false information aimed at discrediting the performance by state bodies of the Russian Federation of their powers outside the territory of the Russian Federation."
Similar by analogy with the responsibility for fakes about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will be punished by a fine of 700 thousand to one and a half million rubles, or imprisonment for up to three years.
The same act committed with the use of official position, or by a group of persons, or "with the artificial creation of evidence of accusation" or "for selfish motives", or "motivated by political, ideological, racial, national or religious hatred or enmity" - is punishable by a fine of three million to five million rubles or imprisonment for a term of five to 10 years.
If the mentioned acts entailed grave consequences, they are punishable by imprisonment for a term of 10 to 15 years, the amendments say.

Also, in accordance with the signed laws, amendments were made to Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The punishment is provided for "public actions aimed at discrediting the execution of their powers by state bodies of the Russian Federation outside the territory of the Russian Federation."
In this case, the fine will be from 100 thousand to 300 thousand rubles, or imprisonment for up to three years is possible.
If these actions result in death by negligence and (or) harm to the health of citizens, property, mass violations of public order and (or) public safety, or that have interfered with the functioning or termination of the functioning of life support facilities, transport or social infrastructure, credit institutions, energy, industry or communications facilities, then they are punishable by a fine in the amount of 300 thousand to one million rubles or imprisonment for up to five years.
Administrative Code
A separate law also amended the Code of Administrative Offences (article 20.3.3).
Thus, public actions "aimed at discrediting the execution of their powers by state bodies of the Russian Federation outside the territory of the Russian Federation" will entail the imposition of an administrative fine on citizens in the amount of 30 thousand to 50 thousand rubles; on officials - from 100 thousand to 200 thousand rubles; on legal entities - from 300 thousand to 500 thousand rubles.
Punishment is provided for cases when such actions are accompanied by "calls to hold unauthorized public events, as well as pose a threat of harm to the life and (or) health of citizens, property, a threat of mass disruption of public order and (or) public safety, or a threat of interference with the functioning or termination of the functioning of life support facilities, transport or social infrastructure, credit institutions, energy, industry or communications facilities".
In these cases, they entail the imposition of an administrative fine on citizens in the amount of 50 thousand to 100 thousand rubles; on officials - from 200 thousand to 300 thousand rubles; on legal entities - from 500 thousand to one million rubles.
