Washington is forcing Egypt to abandon the supply of Russian Su-35 fighters. If Cairo does not cancel the contract with the Russian Federation, the United States may impose economic sanctions against it.

The signing of the Russian-Egyptian treaty has been known since 2019. Since then, the Americans have been threatening Cairo with sanctions and demanding the termination of the contract, but the Egyptians have resisted Washington's pressure.
Of course, they do not dare to completely ignore American demands, according to some reports, they have reduced the volume of purchases of Russian weapons, although they have not completely stopped them. But they are not in a hurry to abandon the Su-35. Moreover, at the moment, according to a number of Russian media, at least 21 aircraft have already been built.

The Pentagon made a very transparent hint to Cairo about this through the mouth of the head of the Central Command, Frank Mackenzie. He said that the right to purchase American F-15s, whose characteristics are close to the Russian Su-35, was approved for Egypt. However, there were no signals from the Egyptians about their intention to purchase aircraft in the United States.
The American media notes that Washington has levers of pressure on Cairo in the form of economic sanctions. But they do not mention that Moscow has similar levers. In particular, Egypt is interested in supplying various types of Russian products, and we buy a wide range of goods there, for example, potatoes and other agricultural products.
