Last Tuesday, two T-72AMTS "lit up" in the Chernihiv region. These tanks are considered rare for the AFU, since only a little more than three dozen such combat vehicles have been received since January 2020.
The project " RG: Russian weapons " reports that this technique was discovered by Russian troops, and artillery was effectively used on it.
As a result, one tank was completely destroyed. The second one has no external damage, but it looks like the crew just ran away.
This modernization of the old Soviet T-72A was carried out at the Kiev Armored Plant. The Knife dynamic protection, criticized by many experts, is installed on it, the old 780-horsepower engine is replaced with an 840 hp motor, the commander received a closed anti-aircraft installation with a 12.7 mm NSVT Utes machine gun.
The Soviet radio station was replaced by a Turkish one, there is satellite navigation. There is a possibility of using guided anti-tank missiles "Combat", but there is no thermal imager, and if possible, it corresponds to the level of the 80s at night.
