Contracts for the supply of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) "Orion" with the countries of the Middle East have not been signed, but negotiations are underway with some foreign customers. This was reported to TASS by the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of the Russian Federation (FSVTS) as part of the World Defense Show 2022 weapons exhibition, which is being held in Saudi Arabia for the first time.
Speaking about possible deliveries of Russian drones to the Middle East region, the FSVTS noted that "contracts for the supply of Orion UAVs with the countries of the Middle East have not been signed, negotiations with some foreign customers are continuing."
"In addition to the Orion UAV, partners have shown interest in Orlan-type complexes," the organization added.
Earlier, TASS reported that Rosoboronexport JSC will present for the first time at the World Defense Show the products of 20 enterprises of the Russian defense industry, including the Orion-E reconnaissance and strike drone.

According to Rosoboronexport, the complex with the Orlan-10E UAV is equipped with payloads unique for its class to ensure the combat operations of operations of diverse groups of troops, special operations and search and rescue operations. The World Defense Show 2022 will be held from March 6 to 9 in Riyadh. The organizer of the new exhibition is the General Directorate of the military industry of Saudi Arabia.
