The launch of the British OneWeb communications satellites is scheduled for March 5 at 01:41 Moscow time

MOSCOW, March 1. /tass/. The Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle for the launch of the British OneWeb communications satellites will be taken to the launch pad of the Baikonur Cosmodrome on Wednesday. This is stated in the message of Roscosmos.

"The commission at the Baikonur cosmodrome made a positive decision on the removal of the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle and its installation at the launch complex on March 2. The start of transportation work is scheduled at 05:30 Moscow time (07:30 local time), " Roscosmos said in a telegram channel.

As specified in the state corporation, this will be the first commercial launch from Baikonur this year. It is scheduled for March 5 at 01:41 Moscow time.

As Dmitry Loskutov, General Director of Glavkosmos JSC, said on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio station, there were no statements from the British side refusing to use Russian "Unions" to launch OneWeb satellites.

Loskutov previously told TASS that a total of seven OneWeb satellite launches are planned for 2022. The first of them took place from the Guiana Space Center (Kourou Cosmodrome) on February 10. Then 34 OneWeb devices were launched into orbit.

OneWeb low-orbit spacecraft are designed to provide ground-based consumers with high-speed Internet directly via satellite communications. Now the group has 394 devices. All of them were withdrawn by Russian Soyuz missiles.
