INTERFAX-FAR EAST - The training on the protection of airspace on Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands was conducted by military personnel with combat calculations of anti-aircraft missile systems S-400 "Triumph" and S-300V4 units of air defense (air defense), the press service of the Eastern Military District reported on Tuesday.
"The purpose of the training was to work out actions in case of violation by aircraft of a conditional enemy of air borders in the area of responsibility in the entire range of heights," the press service reports.
During the training, the duty shifts of anti-aircraft missile systems found aircraft. After the announcement by the higher command post of a training alert signal about an air attack, air defense combat crews worked out a set of practical actions to repel an airstrike.
"Timely search, detection and identification of approaching means of air attack of the "enemy" allowed to carry out training (electronic) missile launches on all targets in a short time," the press service notes.
