Rogozin said that ESA will launch satellites on its rockets when they have them
Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin in his The Telegram channel appreciated the idea of the European Space Agency (ESA) to launch satellites planned for launches on Russian Soyuz rockets on its own rockets.
"After the cancellation of Soyuz launches, the European Space Agency can launch European satellites on its rockets... then, when they have them," the head of the state corporation said ironically.
Rogozin also suggested that Europe was "surprised" when the head of the NASA manned program, Kathy Luders, announced the continuation of cooperation between the US National Aeronautics Administration and Roscosmos in normal mode. "Stirlitz has never been so close to failure," he recalled a quote from a Soviet film.
The European Space Agency explained that it is studying the possibility of using European rockets to launch satellites into orbit, which were planned to be launched on Russian Soyuz. We are talking about systems already in operation, as well as promising Vega C and Ariane 6.
The corresponding ESA statement came after Rogozin announced on February 26 that Roscosmos, in response to EU sanctions, would suspend cooperation with Europe on Soyuz-2 rocket launches from Kourou and withdraw its technical personnel, including the consolidated launch crew, from French Guiana.
