On February 28, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation showed footage of the use of combat helicopters on Ukrainian equipment with the results of the defeat.
The ministry has released a video showing attack helicopters Mi-28NM, Ka-52 and Mi-35, as well as transport and assault Mi-8AMTSh.
The footage shows the launch and flight of air—to-surface guided missiles, as well as the defeat of enemy equipment and facilities, including one building that looks like a warehouse.
At the end of the video, the results of the defeat are shown — the wreckage of the destroyed APU equipment.
In addition, at the disposal of "Izvestia" got a video of the APU tanks, shot down in the village of Gnutovo, Donetsk region. The footage, in particular, captures the armored car "Varta", hit on February 28 in Talakovka, a Ukrainian wheeled armored vehicle with enhanced mine protection on the chassis of MAZ-5434, developed by the private company "Ukrainian Armored vehicles".
Earlier in the day, the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, noted that the Aerospace Forces during the special operation struck six columns of armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the beginning of the operation, more than 300 Ukrainian tanks have been shot down.
In addition, since the beginning of the special operation, 1,146 objects of the military infrastructure of Ukraine have been hit, including 31 control points and a communications center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 81 S-300 anti-aircraft missile defense systems, Buk M-1 and Osa.
Over the past day, 110 more Ukrainian soldiers have voluntarily laid down their arms.
In addition, the forces of the Luhansk People's Republic continued to conduct offensive operations in the direction of the settlement of Kremennoye during the day, advancing another 3 km.
The military of the Donetsk People's Republic advanced 16 km in a day, taking control of the village of Zamozhnoye.
On February 28, negotiations between Russian and Ukrainian representatives took place in the Gomel region of Belarus. According to the head of the Russian delegation Vladimir Medinsky, during the meeting, which lasted about five hours, all the items on the agenda were condemned in detail. The second round of negotiations is expected to take place in the next few days.
On February 24, Putin announced the start of an operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass and demilitarize Ukraine. After that, Kiev cut off diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation, and Western countries introduced new packages of anti-Russian sanctions.
On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, as well as treaties on friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance.
