Teslarati: Europe can use the American Falcon 9 instead of the Russian Soyuz-2
The European operator Arianespace could use the American Falcon 9 carrier to launch spacecraft instead of the Russian Soyuz-2 rocket, suggests Teslarati.
The American edition recalls that the suspension of the launch of Soyuz-2 from the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana "potentially postpones several upcoming European launches indefinitely."
According to the publication, Europe could replace Roscosmos with SpaceX, since the American company United Launch Alliance (ULA) does not have free rockets, and the European carrier Ariane 6 will begin regular launches in at least a year.
"SpaceX may be the only Western launch operator in the world capable of filling the gap," Teslarati concludes.
On February 26, Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin said that the state corporation, in response to EU sanctions, would suspend cooperation with Europe on Soyuz-2 rocket launches from Kuru.
On February 25, the Council of Foreign Ministers of the EU countries approved the second package of sanctions against Russia due to a special operation in the Donbass.
