Moscow. February 28. INTERFAX - The decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin to transfer the deterrence forces to a special combat duty regime followed, in particular, after the statements of the British Foreign Minister, said the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
"There were statements by different representatives at different levels about possible conflict situations and even collisions and clashes between NATO and the Russian Federation. We consider such statements absolutely unacceptable. I will not name the authors of these statements, although it was the British Foreign Minister," Peskov told reporters, answering a corresponding question.
On the eve of Putin ordered to transfer the deterrence forces of the Russian army to a special mode of combat duty.
"Senior officials of the leading NATO countries allow aggressive statements against our country, therefore I order the Minister of Defense and the Chief of the General Staff to transfer the deterrence forces of the Russian army to a special combat duty regime," Putin said during a meeting with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov.
