YEKATERINBURG, February 28. /tass/. About 2.5 thousand military signalmen of the Central Military District (CVO) have started exercises on the management of troops at five training grounds in Siberia and the Urals. This is stated in a message distributed on Monday by the press service of the district.
"The exercise on the organization of the command and control system with the participation of 2.5 thousand specialists of the communications troops of the Central Military District started at the training grounds of the Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk regions and the Altai Territory. During the exercise, the specialists of the Central Military District communications troops are deploying a multi-level command and control system based on protected radio relay, satellite and wired communication channels," the report says.
The servicemen will work out the standards for maintaining the stability and operability of the communication system during the preparation of groups of troops for conducting offensive, defensive and reconnaissance and search operations. Also, the signalmen will perform a disguise of command posts and special equipment.
The press service clarified that the crews of modern communication stations R-160-0,5, digital complexes P-240I-4 "Resettler", radio relay stations R-419L1 with integrated hardware "Redut-2US", as well as mobile command posts APE-5K and P230T based on the armored car "Tiger" were involved in the exercises. It is planned to use more than 700 units of equipment, the press service added. The exercises will last until the end of the week.
The Central Military District is stationed on the territory of three federal districts and 29 subjects of the Russian Federation. The district structurally includes a number of foreign facilities: the 201st military base on the territory of Tajikistan, the joint military base in Kyrgyzstan, as well as units on the territory of Kazakhstan. The headquarters is located in Yekaterinburg.
