MOSCOW, February 27/ Radio Sputnik. German Defense Minister Kristine Lambrecht called the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the transfer of strategic forces to a special regime a threat, RIA Novosti reports.
On Sunday afternoon, the Russian leader ordered the transfer of deterrence forces to a special combat duty regime.
He noted that "senior officials of the leading NATO countries allow aggressive statements against our country."
According to Lambrecht, NATO will coordinate a common response to this so that it does not contribute to further escalation of the situation.
To the clarifying question whether the North Atlantic Alliance should prepare its nuclear arsenal under these conditions, Lambrecht repeated that "we need to take seriously what Putin says," and the bloc's participants should "with a cool head" agree on a common reaction to this decision.
Earlier, Sputnik radio published a video of missile launches at the exercises of the forces of the Russian nuclear triad.
