There are also nine Proton rockets on the site of the Khrunichev Center
MOSCOW, February 27. /tass/. One Angara launch vehicle is located at the Moscow site of the Khrunichev Center, where it is being tested. This was announced by the Director General of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin.
"There are two assembly and testing buildings, they are also under modernization. Currently, there are nine Proton rockets, which have already been assembled, and one Angara, which is undergoing a comprehensive test and will then be sent to the cosmodrome," Rogozin said during a visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin to the construction site of the National Space Center complex.
According to the head of Roscosmos, next to the construction of the NCC is the territory where trains are formed, which are sent to the cosmodromes.
Putin, for his part, noted that he remembers discussions on this topic when it was assumed that the Khrunichev plant would leave this territory in the west of Moscow altogether. "Industry veterans paid attention to the fact that it is impossible to move everything from here to Siberia," the president said.
In turn, the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin noted that the department is grateful to the Moscow government and the mayor for the fact that this project was conceived. "12 thousand design engineers from 17 Roscosmos enterprises located in Moscow will be located here. Roscosmos has only 50 thousand employees in the Moscow region, of which 20 thousand will be here," said the head of Roscosmos.
Rogozin also noted that a scientific and educational complex will be located on the territory of the National Space Center. "Here we are making a center where all the basic departments of those universities that train our specialists for us will be gathered - MSU and Bauman University, MAI, and others," he said, adding that he expects a powerful energy effect and momentum for the development of the industry from this.
