Minsk. February 25. INTERFAX - President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that Minsk and Moscow are not afraid of Western sanctions and have enough resources to "survive" under them.
"Everyone scares Russia, Belarus... But both Russians and Belarusians are already so intimidated by these sanctions that we no longer have fear. He's gone. We will survive," Lukashenko said on Friday. An excerpt of communication with the staff of the Minsk Scientific and Practical Center for Surgery, Transplantation and Hematology was shown on the air of the local TV channel "Belarus-1".
According to the Belarusian president, the period of sanctions should simply be "calmly endured without twitching." He expressed doubts that the situation could change greatly for the worse and assured that people subjected to sanctions would be able to walk proudly on their land, Russian and Belarusian.
