MOSCOW, February 25. /tass/. The interdepartmental commission at the meeting recommended approving the main and backup crews of the Soyuz MS-21 spacecraft and continuing their preparations for the flight to Baikonur, Roscosmos said on Friday.
The state corporation clarified that a meeting of the interdepartmental commission was held today. "According to the conclusion of the commission, cosmonauts have been prepared and recommended for the start of pre-launch training at the Baikonur cosmodrome to perform a space flight on the Soyuz MS-21 spacecraft and work on the Russian segment of the ISS," the message says.
The main crew includes Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Artemyev, Denis Matveev and Sergey Korsakov, the backup crew includes Sergey Prokopyev, Anna Kikina and Dmitry Petelin. The final composition of the crews will be approved by the state Commission at the Baikonur cosmodrome on March 17.
The meeting of the interdepartmental commission was held following the results of the two-day examination session. The crew members coped with all the training emergencies, working on exact copies of the Russian segment of the ISS and the Soyuz MS spacecraft. The Medical Commission also recognized them as airworthy.
The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a rocket with the Soyuz MS-21 spacecraft is scheduled for 18:55 Moscow time on March 18. The flight to the station will take place according to a two-turn scheme (about three hours).
