Dmitry Rogozin called Biden's decision on the space program "alts-gamer" sanctions
Dmitry Rogozin, CEO of the Roscosmos State Corporation, commented on the US decision to impose sanctions against the Russian space program. He wrote about it in his Telegram channel.
The head of the state corporation called the measures announced earlier by US President Joe Biden sanctions "alts-gamer".
According to Rogozin, the United States has already blocked Russia's access to "radiation-resistant microelectronics for space purposes" in 2014. However, Russia continues to make its own spacecraft and will do them, "deploying the production of the necessary components and instruments at home." Also, the United States has previously banned all countries from launching their spacecraft on the world's most reliable Russian rockets, Rogozin stressed. In addition, the American side is destroying cooperation on the International Space Station (ISS), "limiting exchanges between our cosmonaut and astronaut training centers."
The CEO of Roscosmos advised the United States to check those who generate them "for Alzheimer's disease" when planning sanctions. "In order to avoid that your sanctions will fall on your head. And not only in a figurative sense. Therefore, for the time being, as a partner, I suggest that you do not behave like an irresponsible gamer and disavow the statement about "Alzheimer's sanctions". Friendly advice," he concluded.
Earlier on February 24, US President Joe Biden promised to impose sanctions against the Russian space program during his address. According to him, the United States will block more than half of high-tech imports to Russia. "This will deal a blow to their ability to continue to modernize the Armed Forces. This will harm their aerospace industry, including the space program," the politician said.
