Moscow. February 23. INTERFAX - 53% of Russians rate the prestige of the military profession as high, 19% of fellow citizens hold the opposite opinion, according to a survey by the Public Opinion Foundation (POM) received by Interfax.
The results of the study show that among young people aged 18-30, almost every second (46%) calls military professions prestigious.
When answering the sociologists' question about which principle of recruitment is more preferable for the army - conscription or contract, one in six (16%) singled out the draft, 49% spoke in favor of the contract system, one in four (26%) believes that there should be equal numbers of conscripts and contractors in the army.
