Moscow. February 22. INTERFAX.EN - St. Petersburg LLC "Electric Vehicles Manufacturing Rus" (EMR) plans to open a factory in Moscow for the production of EVM PRO electric trucks in the third quarter of 2022. This is stated in the materials for the presentation of the car, which were reviewed by Interfax.
Electric trucks will be produced on the territory of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ. The design of the plant with an area of more than 2.6 thousand square meters has already been completed. The capacity in the first year of operation will be 1 thousand cars.
EVM PRO was created by EMR (55% by the company's finance director Igor Girdin, 45% by CEO Ilya Rashkin) together with the UAZ concern (part of Vadim Shvetsov's Sollers group) on the basis of the UAZ Pro chassis. Key characteristics of the machine: power reserve on a single charge - 300 km, weight - 3.5 tons, payload - up to 1 ton.
The price of an electric car, as stated in the company, will be 3.5 million rubles. Since the project will be implemented under a special investment contract (SPIC), when leasing a car, the buyer can count on a subsidy of 950 thousand rubles. "The result is a price for the consumer - 2.5 million rubles. The machine can pay off in one year of operation," Girdin said during the presentation. According to Rashkin, the company has already agreed to sell 400 electric trucks to the structures of businessman Alexander Lebedev, now the details of this transaction are being agreed.
EMR has already invested 200 million rubles in the project. own funds, Girdin said. In total, according to him, it is planned to attract 1 billion rubles at the first stage. "Negotiations are underway with the largest financial corporations in Russia, leasing companies, venture funds, and private investors. We are ready for proposals: we are looking not only for an investor, but also for a strategic partner with whom we will move forward in the horizon of 5 years or more," said the company's CFO.
A prerequisite for the creation of a light electric truck was the rapid growth of online commerce in the Russian Federation, Girdin explained.
"Over the past year, we have analyzed more than 50 companies that work in this field: these are large Russian market places, food retailers, logistics companies, courier services. It was important for us to understand how many deliveries and what mileage the vehicle makes in one day. The following data turned out: 220-250 km and 25 deliveries per day. Based on these data, we began to design a model of our electric truck," Girdin said.
The volume of the light commercial vehicle (LCV) market in Russia as a whole is 140 thousand cars per year, the potential market volume of electric vehicles of this class – with a body volume of 7 to 16 cubic meters and a payload of up to 1 ton - is estimated at 10 thousand units per year, Rashkin said. "Our company expects to occupy up to 30% of this market," he said.
