EDGE company presented a setup for launching 21 kamikaze drones at the UMEX exhibition
At the Unmanned Systems Exhibition & Conference 2022 (UMEX) in Abu Dhabi, an unmanned systems swarm launch system was shown. The modular installation can carry 21 Halcon Hunter 2-S drones. The kamikaze drones presented are capable of making decisions about an attack on their own, reports The Drive.
The system is based on a modular launcher with tubular guides. It allows you to launch Hunter 2-S drones. Aircraft can attack targets and perform reconnaissance tasks. The drones received a folding wing and tail. Each drone can carry more than seven kilograms of payload.
EDGE CEO Saeed Al Mansouri noted that drones in the swarm can independently coordinate actions using artificial intelligence. According to him, after identifying the target, the system can determine the number of drones needed to hit the object.
Earlier, a military-diplomatic source reported that the Russian military used Lancet-3 kamikaze drones in Syria. The drone was used to strike at the positions of the militants.
In December 2021, the chief designer of ZALA AERO, Alexander Zakharov, announced that Russian kamikaze drones would operate as part of a swarm.
