Russian air defense forces may close the sky over the DPR, the entry of regular units into the republic may not be required - Basurin

Moscow. February 22. INTERFAX - Russia can ensure the security of the republics of Donbass, including the airspace, without introducing its forces into their territory, said the representative of the People's Militia of the DPR Eduard Basurin.

"Air defense systems from the Russian side can also close the sky above us, no one will fly here without introducing any military units here," Basurin said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel (VGTRK) on Tuesday.

The representative of the People's Militia of the DPR also noted that with one statement about security guarantees, the Russian Federation can protect the population of this territory.
