Minsk. February 19. INTERFAX - Secretary of State of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Volfovich gave an excellent assessment of the coherence of the Belarusian and Russian military taking part in the joint exercises "Allied Resolve-2022".
"Last year, during the Zapad-2021 exercises, we witnessed coordinated, confident actions, clear interaction between the regional grouping of troops of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation. Today we have also witnessed excellent actions of the newly created group, which should provide tasks for the military security of the Union State," Wolfovich said on Saturday after watching the final draw of the tactical episode of the exercises at the Obuz-Lesnovsky training ground. His words are quoted by the state agency BelTA.
It is premature to make estimates, the number of affected targets will still be calculated, but visually everything went exactly on target, said Wolfovich.
"This speaks about the training of the troops, the coherence of actions. 10 days of exercises were not in vain. This proves to all our detractors that despite the fact that Belarus is a country of peace and goodness, it was, is and will be able to protect its sovereignty, its integrity, and the security of its people," the Secretary of State of the Security Council said.
Wolfovich noted that the most difficult tactical episode was played out - the restoration of the lost position and the liberation of the territory captured by the enemy.
"This is a difficult task for any troops. Our joint group successfully coped with the tasks set. I would like it to work only in the curriculum, it would not be used in life. Nevertheless, the Armed forces of any state must be prepared for war. If you want peace, prepare for war," the State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus said.
As reported, Russia and Belarus are checking the reaction forces of the Union State. At the first stage - on February 9 - the redeployment and creation of groups of troops took place. At the second stage - from February 10 to 20 - the joint exercise "Allied Determination-2022" is held.
A number of units of the Armed Forces of Belarus, as well as parts of the Eastern Military District, the Aerospace Forces (VKS) and the Airborne Troops (Airborne Forces) of Russia are taking part in the exercises. In particular, long-range S-400 Triumph air defense systems, Pantsir-S short-range air defense systems, Su-35 multi-purpose fighters of the fourth generation and Su-25SM attack aircraft have been relocated to Belarus from Russia.
In Belarus, four training grounds ("Obuz-Lesnovsky", "Osipovichi", "Brest", "Gozhsky"), a number of terrain areas, as well as four airfields (in Baranovichi, Luninets, Lida and Machulishchi) are involved in the exercises.
The maneuvers are taking place against the backdrop of a crisis in relations between Russia and NATO. The United States, other NATO countries and Ukraine announced the concentration of Russian troops near the Ukrainian border and the threat of a Russian invasion.
