Rostec has equipped the Pantsir-SM ZRPC with a unique navigation system
The Russian upgraded anti-aircraft missile and cannon complex "Pantsir-SM" has received a unique navigation system developed by the Signal Research Institute (part of the High-Precision Complexes holding), and it is currently being tested. This was announced by Bekhan Ozdoev, Industrial director of the Rostec Corporation's weapons complex.
According to him, the new navigation system, which was equipped with the "Shell", was developed on the basis of a world-class free-form inertial navigation system (BINS) and has no analogues in Russia. "It implements a unique combination of key parameters of modern orientation systems — high accuracy of autonomous determination of angles, readiness time and resistance to external factors," Ozdoev said.
Earlier, Izvestia sources in the Russian Defense Ministry reported that new units and units of the mobile Air Defense Reserve (air defense) will be formed in the Southern Military District (SE), which will cover the south of Russia and the Caucasus. The military will receive anti-aircraft missile and cannon complexes (ZRPC) "Pantsir".
In December 2021, the head of the military air defense of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Alexander Leonov, announced that the development of the Pantsir-SM-SV missile defense system would be completed in 2022.
