MOSCOW, Feb 18 - RIA Novosti. The marines of the Eastern Military District practiced maneuver defense with grenade launchers as part of the Russian-Belarusian exercises "Allied Determination-2022", the Russian Defense Ministry reports.
"The units of the Marine Corps of the Eastern Military District, taking part in the joint exercise "Allied Determination-2022", at the Obuz-Lesnovsky training ground worked out the issues of conducting maneuver defense in cooperation with combined arms units," the message says.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the grenade launcher marines repelled an attempt by a conditional enemy to break through from the flank of motorized rifle and engineering units. The shooting was carried out from automatic grenade launchers AGS-17 "Flame", and during the combat shooting the Marines successfully solved more than 30 tasks with the change of firing positions.
From February 10 to 20, joint Belarusian-Russian exercises "Allied Resolve-2022" are being held, within the framework of which issues of suppressing and repelling external aggression, as well as countering terrorism and protecting the interests of the Union State are being worked out. Representatives of Russia and Belarus have repeatedly stated that the maneuvers are defensive and do not threaten anyone.
