The US proposal on measures to develop the START is contrary to the nature of the dialogue
Moscow. February 17. INTERFAX - Russia stands for an integrated approach to strategic stability and invites the United States to work out a new "security equation," according to the written response of the Russian Federation to the United States on security proposals.
"Russia continues to advocate an integrated approach to strategic issues. We propose to work together to develop a new "security equation," the document distributed on Thursday says.
According to the authors of the letter, the United States suggests that Moscow "immediately" engage in the development of "measures for the development of the Strategic Stability Treaty" within the framework of the strategic stability dialogue. "However, at the same time, the American side is trying to fix an approach that is not coordinated with us, which provides for focusing exclusively on nuclear weapons, and regardless of the ability of certain means to pose a direct threat to the national territory of the other side," the document says.
