Acting Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Chupriyan expressed the opinion that the work of rescuers should not be commercialized. Such a statement was made at the annual expanded board of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"We should not plunge into unnatural commercialization through the provision of paid services to the population in search of a better life," he said. "The very philosophy of the EMERCOM of Russia and the spirit of humanism of the rescue service contradicts the implementation of commercial services in the field of rescue," he said.
The head of the department noted that it is necessary to look for new formats in the training of rescuers, the development of the material and technical base, update the organization of response and solve the issues of social security of rescuers.
According to TASS, earlier Alexander Chupriyan had already expressed a similar opinion after the information appeared about the transfer of part of the services of the State Central Airmobile Rescue Squad "Centrospas" to a commercial basis. Already being in the rank of acting minister, Alexander Chupriyan canceled the order on the liquidation of the detachment and its reorganization from the FGKU to the FSBI. The reform was conceived by the authors in order to allow rescuers to earn money.
