The United States seeks to challenge Russia's legitimate rights in the Arctic, to gain unhindered access to the resources of the region and the Northern Sea Route, for this Washington has adopted Arctic military strategies, said Mikhail Popov, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
"In the Arctic, the United States seeks to challenge Russia's legitimate rights, to gain unhindered access to the region's resources and to the Northern Sea Route. Based on this, over the past two years, the Arctic strategies of the Ministries of Defense, army, Air Force, Navy have been adopted," Popov said in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
