Russia is developing a monstrous 72-meter submarine, invisible to radar. Its displacement is 1300 tons. The new submarine is suitable for coastal protection and can be quickly put on alert. We are talking about a modification of the diving patrol ship "Sentinel", combining the advantages of a submarine and a surface patrol ship.
The Mirror writes about this, referring to the data of the design bureau of marine technology "Rubin", which designed the ship "Guardian". As the publication notes, the increased length of the submarine allows you to add several functions - reducing radar visibility, the stability of the ship as a weapons platform. The submarine also has a sonar antenna and radar stations.
The ship is maximally armed - it carries four torpedo tubes of 324 mm caliber, two launchers for guided missiles. Engineers have optimized the space by embedding two multifunctional sealed hangars in which boats, additional weapons systems and unmanned aerial vehicles can be stored. This configuration makes the Guardian a dangerous opponent even for much larger surface ships.
The Guardian is a submersible ship combining the advantages of a submarine and a surface patrol ship. Both radar and sonar antennas can be used to search for intruders - this allows you to covertly detect targets and approach them unnoticed.
