The American company Virgin Galactic on Wednesday, February 16, will begin the open sale of tickets for commercial suborbital flights on its spacecraft. The starting price of the tour is 450 thousand dollars. This is stated in the company's press release, which is cited by Interfax .
It is noted that at this stage, a thousand tickets for flights will go on sale, which are expected to be held during 2022 from the cosmodrome in the US state of New Mexico. The schedule of upcoming launches has not yet been published.
It is known that the entire flight will last about 90 minutes. At the same time, space tourists will spend only a few minutes in a state of weightlessness.
Nevertheless, the company promises that future astronauts will receive top-level service and experience "that money can't buy."
Earlier it became known that the shares of the American space company Virgin Galactic Holdings Inc. against the background of reports about the start of ticket sales for flights into space soared by 14 percent and traded at a price of $ 9.24 per paper.
Virgin Galactic is owned by British billionaire Richard Branson. In July 2021, on board a ship of his own company, he flew to the border with space. There were five other people in the liner with him.
