At the same time, funding for basic research has been increased to an average of 13 billion rubles a year, said Maxim Ovchinnikov, first deputy director of the state corporation
MOSCOW, February 15. /tass/. Financing of projects in the space industry decreased by about 277 billion rubles during the implementation of the Federal Space Program (FCP) for 2016-2025, but last year Roscosmos managed to partially eliminate this sequester, said Maxim Ovchinnikov, first deputy director of the state corporation.
"During the implementation of the Federal Space Program of Russia for 2016-2025, there has indeed been a significant reduction in the financing of space projects - a total of about 277 billion rubles. But last year, together with the Ministry of Finance and the government, we managed to partially eliminate this sequester," he said in an interview with the Vedomosti newspaper published on Tuesday.
As Ovchinnikov explained, funding for fundamental space research has been increased to an average of 13 billion rubles a year. In addition, it was decided to increase funding for projects to create orbital satellite groupings for civilian purposes, work has begun on the creation of spacecraft within the framework of the Sphere program. 7 billion rubles were allocated to finance the priorities of this project for 2021, and another 21 billion rubles for 2022-2024.
The first deputy director of Roscosmos noted that the sequestration observed in the last three years has led to a shortage of funds in a number of areas of the state corporation's activities. "We are currently negotiating with the Ministry of Finance and will come out in the new budget cycle with proposals to eliminate this deficit. Of course, understanding the difficult situation with the budget, we will build reasonable priorities to maximize the efficiency of the space industry," he said.
