INTERFAX - The National Space Center under construction in Moscow is planned to be put into operation in 2024, and the launch complex for launch vehicles "Angara" at the Vostochny cosmodrome will be completed this year, First Deputy Director General of Roscosmos Maxim Ovchinnikov said.
"The National Space Center is planned to be completed in 2023 and put into operation in 2024. The launch for Angara at Vostochny is planned to be completed by the end of this year, and in 2023 the parallel installation and testing of special technological equipment will continue, and at the end of the same year it is planned to carry out the first launch of the launch vehicle," Ovchinnikov said in an interview published on Tuesday in the Vedomosti newspaper.
Answering the question of the publication whether there is a shortage of builders involved in the construction of the Vostochny cosmodrome and how attractive working conditions are there now, the deputy director of Roscosmos clarified that "The Amur Region, however, like the entire Far East, is characterized, unfortunately, by a significant shortage of not only labor resources, but also building materials."
