Military specialist Knutov spoke about the protection of the Black Sea by the Bastion complexes
The Russian coastal missile system (DBK) "Bastion" can hit most existing ships. DBK provide protection of the Black Sea water area from any enemy. The director of the Museum of the Air Defense Forces (Air Defense), military expert Yuri Knutov told about this on Sputnik radio.
He noted that Russia has created a system of "no-access zones", which includes the Bal and Bastion missile defense systems, as well as the Iskander operational and tactical missile systems and the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems. This does not allow the enemy to create an offensive grouping at the Russian borders.
"The combination of the Bastion and Bal complexes makes it possible to destroy enemy ships directly at their entrance into the Black Sea. The enemy is well aware that the Bastion complex provides one hundred percent defeat of almost all existing ships. Aircraft carriers require multiple missiles. The presence of ground installations ensures the protection of the Black Sea from any enemy," Knutov said.
Earlier, the information support department of the Black Sea Fleet reported on conducting exercises with the Bastion DBK in the Crimea. During the maneuvers, the calculations of the complexes prepared the "Bastions" for training missile firing and worked out the disguise of new starting positions.
In October, a source in the military-industrial complex announced a new missile for the Bal BRK. During the tests, the missile's flight range exceeded 500 kilometers.
