Uzbekistan will purchase 38 Puma 3 AE small reconnaissance drones in the United States as part of the Foreign Military Sales program.
This is reported by the British edition of Shephard Media.
According to the publication, the drones will be delivered to Uzbekistan by AeroVironment by November 30 of this year.
According to Shephard Defense Insight, the total cost of the purchase is $8.54 million, and Uzbekistan will pay $225,000 for one drone.
It is claimed that the drones are capable of conducting land and sea reconnaissance and transmitting data captured by 15-megapixel cameras directly to the center in the form of video. Earlier, the State Defense Industry Committee reported that Uzbekistan launched the first unmanned aerial vehicle in Central Asia, and Lochin drones "fully comply with international technical requirements and standards."
Radio Ozodlik (Uzbekistan) notes that the committee's statement stated that drones can perform tasks such as reconnaissance, strikes, real-time surveillance, artillery fire control and the ability to use in other sectors of the economy.
