The Russian robotic complex "Marker" was tested as a near-hand air defense system for the destruction of small unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as kamikaze drones. "Marker" detected drones in automatic mode and hit them at short distances.
Evgeny Dudorov, executive director of the NGO "Android Technology", which developed the robot, told RIA Novosti about this. He noted the difficulty of countering kamikaze drones, which have no connection with control points. To do this, they came up with a special tactic. The "Marker" is equipped with a radar, it recognizes the target and transmits the coordinates to the rifle and grenade launcher module. After that, the robot hits objects with a regular machine gun.
As Evgeny Dudorov added, the "Marker" recognizes the target with the help of a modern neural network device that does it faster and better than a person. And the robot has already demonstrated good accuracy indicators of destroying flying objects. The tests were carried out on bench shooting, where the "Marker" showed 80 percent of the carbine.
In addition, the Markera rifle complex in the short-range air defense variant can rotate at speeds of 350 degrees per second. No one has such indicators.
