If necessary, the state will ensure the return of all Ukrainian citizens from abroad
Kiev. February 13. INTERFAX-UKRAINE - Ukraine has no plans to suspend air traffic and is working to prevent risks for air carriers.
According to the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine on Sunday, the information about the closure of the airspace of Ukraine does not correspond to reality. The closure of air space is a sovereign right of Ukraine, and no corresponding decision has been taken.
"Today, the Ministry of Infrastructure held a working meeting with the participation of the leadership of the Office of the President of Ukraine, the State Aviation Service of Ukraine, SE "Ukraerorukh", SE MA "Borispol" and Ukrainian airlines on the situation in the air transportation market. According to the results of the meeting, a solution was worked out to prevent further aggravation of the situation," the ministry stressed.
According to the agency, most airlines continue operating without restrictions.
"Some carriers have difficulties related to fluctuations in the insurance markets. For its part, the state is ready to support air carriers and plans to provide additional financial guarantees to support the aviation market," the Ministry of Infrastructure stressed.
The ministry added that Ukraine is consulting with international partners and preparing relevant government decisions.
"Insurance markets, as well as capital markets, are vulnerable to the information field. We expect that the situation will stabilize in the near future. To do this, the Government, the Office of the President and our international partners are developing common solutions. If necessary, the state will ensure the return of all Ukrainian citizens from abroad," said the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov.
Earlier, a source in the Ministry of Infrastructure reported that Ukraine does not plan to suspend air traffic in its airspace at the state level, but the airlines themselves can decide on the suspension of flights.
