Rocket engines of the first and second stages RD-107A/RD-108A produced by the Samara enterprise of the Rostec United Engine Corporation provided a successful launch of the Soyuz-ST-B space rocket with 34 OneWeb telecommunications satellites.
The launch took place from the launch pad of the Soyuz launch complex of the Kourou cosmodrome (French Guiana). The RD-107A/RD-108A engines installed on the launch vehicle worked normally.
Serial engines produced by UEC-Kuznetsov have once again shown reliable operation in humid equatorial climate conditions.
Launches of the Soyuz-type RCN from the Guiana Space Center cosmodrome have been underway since 2011. The launch of Soyuz-ST-B from the Kourou cosmodrome was the twenty-seventh in a row.
Rostec noted that each rocket engine produced at UEC-Kuznetsov undergoes mandatory fire tests in a separate unit "Vintay" before being sent to the customer.
