London. February 12. INTERFAX - NATO has sent US Air Force Boeing F-15 and Royal Danish Air Force F-16 aircraft to Estonia and Lithuania, respectively, to strengthen its forces of the NATO Mission to patrol the airspace of the Baltic states, Aviation News reported.
This measure, according to the report, is caused by "growing concern" about the escalation of the situation around Ukraine. American F-15s landed at the Estonian Emari airbase, and Danish F-16s landed at the airbase in Siauliai, Lithuania, "to strengthen the forces already deployed as part of the long-established NATO airspace protection mission."
Danish F-16s will work together with four Polish F-16s deployed in Siauliai on December 1, 2021 to provide air patrols in the Baltic States, American F-15s will interact with the current detachment of four Belgian F-16s in Emari, Aviation News writes.
